Oli graduated from Kindergarten (like 2 months ago)

On a hot May morning, three kindergarten classes from Central Elementary sat in chairs facing their family and friends with huge smiles on their faces, all ready to receive their cute little computer generated diplomas.

I watched, with Justin, Ella and our family as Olivia Talei walked to her teacher when her name was called and received her kindergarten diploma.

Am I being dramatic right now? Far from it. My first born is done with kindergarten and I was so elated. I have to say, my girl is pretty smart. She has always been. Walking at 9 1/2 months, talking since age one, potty trained by 23 months. I mean, seriously. She was super advanced.

This year in Ms. Arnaudo's class I was surprised when she brought home her weekly homework assignments with stars and good job stickers on the front, started reading full chapter books in February and wowed us with her writing, spelling and math skills.

Justin and I had to immediatley stop spelling words around her because she would begin to ask, after silently re-spelling the word, "Who gets to go to Coldstone today?"

And this year, we just saw her bloom and grow taller than a beaming sunflower. Her first teacher conference left me teary eyed and a proud puffed out chest. She received a 9/10 the first time she took a "sight words" spelling test. She brought home her first story where she phonetically spelled words like [tentakal] and [pashently]. Whose kid does that? (Don't burst my bubble please.)

Anyhow. I love my Oli. On to first grade Olivia goes!
